Summit is AFPM's premier technical conference dedicated to improving plant-wide performance in the refining and petrochemical industries. Sessions are led and attended by engineers, managers, operators and leaders across the downstream sector. This year's conference will feature technical tracks in Maintenance, Hydroprocessing, Crude/Coking, FCC, Sustainability, Alarm Management, Artificial Intelligence, Unit Reliability, Digitalization, Turnaround, and Alkylation. 

Technip Energies will showcase our expertise and capabilities in our HUB Lounge in San Antonio 4 with educational content, a booth set-up, and a hospitality suite in the evenings. AFPM Summit will take place at the Gaylord Texan on 3 October – 5 October 2023 in Grapevine, Texas, USA. 

Our HUB Lounge educational content will consist of four presentations on Tuesday, 3 October 2023: 

  • 13:00 (CST) - Digitally enhanced operations – Maximizing FCC and refinery profitability, presented by Fabrice Rey, Siyi Lai, and Lourdes Reyes 

  • 14:00 (CST) - Planning and executing a revamp of a resid FCCU for maximum propylene, presented by Scott Golczynski 

  • 15:00 (CST) - The Shades of Blue H2, presented by Scott Fowler 

  • 16:00 (CST) - Operator Upskilling for increased field safety presented by Fabrice Rey 


Our Speakers: 

At 10:00 (CST) on Thursday, 5 October, Yongcan Gao, Senior Technologist, FCC Technology will discuss “Advanced catalyst cooler features to enhance FCC operational flexibility” 

Our Panelist: 

At 13:15 (CST) on Wednesday, 4 October, Steve Shimoda, Refining Technology Manager will sit on a panel to discuss “FCC Providers shorten time to entry during turnarounds”.
