Technip Energies is executing a major contract for TotalEnergies for the topsides of the GranMorgu FPSO unit in Suriname.
With its 322 meters long and 60 meters wide, the hull for the GranMorgu floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel entered dry dock at the CMHI yard in Nantong, China, in April.
This marks a key phase in the project, that our teams are executing in joint venture with SBM Offshore. Critical inspections and structural work have now commenced with a view to complete the hull preparation for later Topsides integration.
Once dry dock activities are completed, the FPSO will be transferred to the nearby COSCO yard for integration where topsides integration will take place, before sailing away to its final destination in Suriname.
The project also aims to set new standards for lower-carbon offshore production, with a Scope 1 and 2 emissions intensity of less than 16 kg CO2e/boe.
In addition, energy consumption will be further optimized through waste heat recovery and seawater cooling.
“Any work carried out in joint venture requires exceptional coordination across engineering, procurement, yard and marine operations to keep complex projects moving safely on time and in sequence,” said Technip Energies’ Deputy Project Director Andrea Magarini. “We now remain focused on disciplined and safe execution across each phase as the project advances toward its next phase.”
