About Rebound
Rebound* is a joint venture established to develop a strategic Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production project at the Port of Dunkirk in Northern France, using the Alcohol-to-Jet (AtJ) technological pathway.
With a target output of approximately 160,000 tons of SAF per year, Rebound would rank among the largest dedicated SAF facilities in France, and one of the first to target industrial scale via the AtJ route.
* The creation of the Rebound JV is subject to customary conditions and approvals, and is expected to be finalized in the second half of this year.
Built for sustainable aviation fuel consumers
Rebound is designed to address the needs of kerosene and SAF consumers across the entire aviation fuel ecosystem, from airlines to fuel distribution. Whether securing long-term supply, meeting blending mandates, or decarbonizing fuels portfolio, Rebound would offer a reliable, large-scale, European source of SAF.

Why Alcohol-to-Jet?
SAF is widely recognised as the primary lever to decarbonize aviation. Among all available production pathways, Alcohol-to-Jet (AtJ) is emerging as the most scalable and cost-competitive option for reaching industrial volumes once HEFA-based production has plateaued.
Advanced ethanol, produced from agricultural and forestry residues, is converted into a drop-in aviation fuel that can be blended with conventional jet fuel and used in existing engines and aircraft.
Four partners across the full SAF value chain
Together, Rebound's four partners would cover the full value chain from feedstock supply to aviation end-users, under a single European-led initiative.
As majority shareholder, Technip Energies would act as the project’s lead developer and engineering services provider, bringing its expertise in technology scaling and complex project execution.
Airbus is a world-class leader in global aerospace, and joins as an industrial partner, offtake facilitator and potential SAF offtaker.
Safran is an international group, leader in the aviation market, and joins as an industrial partner, offtake facilitator and potential SAF offtaker.
Tereos, a French agriculture cooperative, intends to supply and source the advanced ethanol required for the project.
Combining strengths to support energy transition in France and Europe
With a focus on energy sovereignty, reindustrialization and decarbonization, we support the European Union and United Kingdom SAF mandates and help our clients achieve their net zero goals.
Through shared expertise and resources, the collaboration seeks to lead the AtJ sector development as a long-term technology solution for Europe.
